Boston and County Club Limited is a private members club. Our Main office is Parkgate, Boston PE21 6RL, with a phone number of 01205 365694. Whilst there is no requirement to appoint a Data Protection Officer should there be any queries please contact our Privacy Advisor, Michael Alexander.
In the very nature of running a busy private member club, we will obtain personal data in order to function as an effective club. This data will come from a number of sources, primarily from our members directly, but from other sources such as the members of public and other companies, who may book rooms in the club. NO data will be shared, and we will keep all personal information confidential. This means that without your permission the details that you have provided will not be disclosed. Your personal data is used to facilitate the compiling of lists of members and to apply the correct membership fee, or indeed the correct fee to attend various functions.
Boston and County Club Limited do have a website that can be used to send out mail shots of any relevant activities or functions that may be of interest to our membership. We do not accept paid advertisements for product and services. We do not sell or use your details for any other purpose. Like many other websites our website uses cookies (including Google analytics cookies) to obtain an overall view of our visitor habits. Cookies are a small piece of information sent to your computer to device and stored on its hard drive to recognise you when you visit. It is possible to switch off cookies by setting your browser preferences.
Should payment be made to Boston and County Club Ltd on line or by a credit card we will not retain any account numbers. We have no access to your financial data at all. Transactions are recorded by our bank/payment processor, we have access to your identity and payment confirmation in order to reconcile your accounts. These details are retained for a period of 7 years from the date of payment. We ask for name address, business address, email address and telephone contact number. We use these details to generate invoices and create accounting records for HMRC and other accounting purposes (i.e. legal obligation under GDPR).
Our data is kept for the duration of membership and for a further 7 years (to comply with the re-joining requirement contained in the articles of the club. After this period, we can destroy any physical paperwork and we delete any computer records. We will not share your data with other people.
Under Article 13 and 14 you have the right to be informed about how your data is being used. For example, you can request information about whether we hold personal information about you and if so what that information is and why we are holding/using it.
Under Article 15 you have the right to access the personal data held by CDA. You have a right to request access to your personal information (commonly known as “data subject access”). This enables you to receive a copy of personal information we hold about you and to check that we are lawfully processing it
Under Article 16 you have the right to correct any data.
Under Article 17 of GDPR you have the right to have your data wiped. This is not an absolute right as there is a legal obligation upon CDA Ltd to hold the data for 7 years. However, after that period of time your rights under Article 17 can be enforced. Request erasure of your personal information. This enables you to ask us to delete or removed personal information where there is no good reason for us continuing to process it. You also have the right to ask us to remove or delete your personal information where you have exercised your rights to object to processing.
Under Article 20 you have the right to request that your data be made portable. Request transfer of your personal information in an electronic and structed form to you or to another party (commonly known as a right to “data portability”) This enables you to take your data from us in an electronically useable format and to be able to transfer your data to another party in an electronically useable format.
