ARRANGING MATCHES
The aim is to get 100% of matches played!
The draw sheets will display two dates for each round:
“NOTIFICATION DATE” and “TO BE PLAYED BY”
The notification date will be a minimum of two weeks before the played by date
- In any match, the FIRST NAMED PLAYER is responsible for contacting his opponent by the NOTIFICATION DATE and arranging a mutually agreeable date on which to play their match.
- If the SECOND NAMED PLAYER is not contacted by the NOTIFICATION DATE, they should contact Martin Watling, Charles Russell or Colin Woodcock, who will contact the FIRST NAMED PLAYER and remind them of their responsibility to arrange the match.
- If the match is not played and NO CONTACT HAS BEEN MADE, THE FIRST NAMED PLAYER FORFEITS THE MATCH because the onus is on that player to get it organised.
- If the match is not played and CONTACT HAS BEEN MADE, THE SECOND NAMED PLAYER FORFEITS THE MATCH because the onus to play the match has moved to that player.
LATTER STAGES OF COMPETITIONS
Players on holiday presents the biggest problem when arranging finals. Fortunately we have two Finals Nights and the Snooker Committee will do everything they can to make sure that all finalists are able to take part. Please inform MARTIN WATLING or CHARLES RUSSELL as soon as possible if there may be an issue in getting a match played at the SEMI-FINAL or FINAL stage. This will assist them with their planning.
FINALS and PRESENTATION EVENINGS
Whilst the Snooker Committee accept that players on Finals Night may prefer to wear casual clothing in which to play their matches, it is now an expectation that:
ALL FINALISTS WEAR A JACKET, COLLAR & TIE FOR THE MEAL AND PRESENTATION
(Please note: This expectation does not apply to members coming to watch the finals.)
